This week’s topic is titled: "The Helper's High".  It could have been called "Don't Be a Scrooge!  There is real evidence showing that those that are more giving of themselves live longer and healthier.  One large study found a 44% reduction in early deaths among those who volunteered a lot - a greater effect than exercising four times a week.  Almost every study on longevity indicates one secret that makes people healthier and happier--helping others.  Specifically, it's the dignity, the joy, the passion and the purpose of helping others that brings these beneficial effects, whether you're helping another person quit smoking, building a home for a family in need or mentoring a child at school.  To learn more, click here: "The Science of Good Deeds"
