WeCan Howard County

WeCan! is a national education program that provides parents and caregivers of children ages 8 to 13 with tools and strategies for maintaining a healthy weight.  WeCan stands for Ways to Enhance Children's Activity and Nutrition.  The focus is on improving nutrition, increasing physical activity, and reducing screen time.  A key component of this program is involving parents and children together.  Waverly Elementary School, in partnership with We Promote Health Inc, completed a successful We Can! pilot program in early May 2010.  We Promote Health will be supporting additional schools in the 2012-13 school year.
