Welcome to WEEK ONE of the Healthy Lifestyle Challenge!
This challenge is about finding your balance. If week one wasn't the perfect start, make next week's goal to simply improve your score! Make sure that you are completing your tracking sheet daily. It only takes a minute. Week 1 will be over on Sunday at midnight. Tracking sheets should be emailed or faxed in by Wednesday (midnight). Every Wednesday, we will send you a challenge communication. The communication will include a link to a website each week where you will find the mystery question that you need to answer.
So how do you earn Bonus Activity Points? Each week, we will offer one or more opportunities for you to join us for a group wellness activity. It might be exercise related such as this Saturday’s FREE Circuit Training in the Park or it might be to get your questions answered by a local dietician. Stay tuned each week to find out what’s happening.

If weight-loss is your goal, Link to the BMI calculator and update your weight every Monday morning. Be consistent each week. For any week that you reach a BMI that is 1 point lower than the starting BMI, you earn the “Transformation” bonus. On your tracking sheet, you would type “Yes” in the transformation box and the point total will automatically increase your base score by 5%. You can take the Transformation bonus at any week in the challenge that you reach the milestone of reducing your BMI by 1 point. You can earn up to 2 transformation bonuses during the ten week challenge.
If you are already within a normal BMI range, you can request another wellness goal be considered for your Transformation bonus. Examples: Smoking cessation, reduce alcohol consumption, significant increase in physical activity, water consumption, sleep, consumption of fruits and vegetables, giving up soda, etc. The idea is to set a transformation goal for yourself that is achievable but certainly a stretch. On your tracking sheet, type a short description of your transformation goal for consideration. If you don’t have a transformation goal this week, submit a request and go for it at any point during the 10 weeks.
How to Save Your Tracking Sheet and the Process for Emailing It: Create a file on your computer called, HealthyLifestyleChallenge2011. Each week we will attach a new tracking sheet to our Wednesday communication. Copy the tracking sheet into a document before adding your personal scores. Names each file consecutively week1, week2, week3, etc. When you are ready to email your file to us, simply type “Healthy Lifestyle Challenge” in the subject and attach your tracking sheet. Make sure that you provide us with your first and last name for management purposes.
