Bonus Question:  What is the average % that food provides toward total water intake?  (Sign-in to respond)

*Bonus Question Hint: Guidelines Help You Drink Enough Fluids     Answer:  A - 20%

How much water is enough? Usually, having 2 glasses with each meal is ideal, and it should definitely be consumed when you are thirsty.   The great thing about water is it is refreshing, it has no calories, it is inexpensive and it is readily available. Everyone has heard the advice, “Drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day.”   This is a good rule of thumb but it’s not supported by hard evidence.  The rule should be reframed as:  “Drink at least eight 8 –ounce glasses of fluid a day,” because all fluids count toward the daily total.  But remember, water is your best beverage of choice when it comes to your health.  Also, remember that you may need to modify your total fluid intake depending on how active you are, the climate you live in, your health status, and if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.

Make the most out of the Healthy Lifestyle Challenge by committing to making it a priority every day.  Few can score 100% every day.  The key is to forgive yourself and stay in the game. Another key is to plan in advance.  Think about what you are going to be eating tomorrow.  If you know later in the week that you have a dinner engagement, make adjustments earlier in the week.  Learn to manage your Energy Balance.

Eat healthy and get active!
